Before Liberation, Shaoyang was famous as a city of artists.  That tradition is still going strong, and recently a group of prominant artists and calligraphers exhibited in the capital of Hunan.

I got in while they were still setting up and managed to get some pictures.  Here's a selection of what contemporary Shaoyang artists are up to.
