A teashop: bright and clean, but in the back of the
shop the toilet is hung with cooking utensils and I can see the
family cook in there as well.
A narrow staircase – as if it climbed to a
priest’s hole – up to the room where the family live, which is the
room above the shop ceiling and the rooms’ top. It is littered with
sacks of tea. I imagine the family sitting silently when there were
customers downstairs. When I come back the tea shop owner hands
over to Songqing, cheerfully admitting that he isn’t very good at
the tea ceremony.
