Shaoyang new
town: the government has moved the night market over the river. It
is nice to cross the river on the new arching bridge and look back
at Shaoyang, almost like looking into the past. The city walls,
rebuilt, and the primary flashes of neon – blue and yellow and red
and green – reflected in ripples upon the glossy black river water.
